Soil and water bioengineering works

Hydrogeological instability and hydraulic adjustments are extremely delicate issues that require utmost attention at the planning stage through the involvement of various professionals that address and analyze each case in a multidisciplinary way.

This discipline, widely spread using the best available techniques, especially in Germany and Austria since the late 80s, has been intensively used  to solve landslide problems and adequately plan and manage areas subject to repeated erosion phenomena or surface and structural instability.

  • Construction of palisades and barriers with living materials such as wood and cuttings of shrubs and trees
  • Installation of stone gabions with the combination of anti-erosion geomats, including three-dimensional ones
  • Cleaning and reshaping of drainage ditches, watercourses, and containment and control erosion structures using geosynthetics with anti-erosion jute canvas
  • Mechanical hydroseeding using simple and complex techniques
  • Planting of bare root species and species with tapering root systems on slopes, trenches, and embankments
  • Nature trails and the creation of firebreak lines in the mountains
